kind of. good girls from queens get catapulted into the market espousing a gnarly bad girl image. "leader of the pack" caused a furor. the furor of course accompanied the transition from skirt to pant.
The Shangri-Las had a 'tough girls' persona that set them apart from other girl groups. interestingly here the tight pant isn't considered a 'come-hither' thing as much as a 'fuck off' thing. but in a read 'em and weep kind of way.
